On 6 Oct 1821, James J. Dozier sold a part of Shepherdsville lot #25 to Edward McDade who sold it to Richard P. Simmons.
Simmons' heirs would later sell the ground to Henry J. Craycroft. Craycroft would later sell it to Wesley Phelps. Phelps then sold the tract to Joseph Collier. This was the northernmost 40 feet of lot 25. Collier next sold the lot and house to Harriet Travis, whose heirs then sold it to Sarah J. Ridgway. Sarah would next sell the lot to Nancy L. Crist.
Nancy would later enter into an arrangement with R. J. Meyler in which she deeded her part of lot 25 to him, and he deeded his part of lots 55 & 56 to her, with some money changing hands. It is unclear how this ground became the property of the trustees of the Methodist Church, but they sold it to W. H. Holsclaw on 8 Feb 1897. Holsclaw sold a part of it to William and G. W. Simmons on 11 Aug 1900 as shown below. The Peoples Bank was organized in 1900 with William Simmons as its president. The drawing below identifies this lot as the bank lot.
