On 6 Oct 1821, James J. Dozier sold a part of Shepherdsville lot #25 to Edward McDade who sold it to Richard P. Simmons.
Simmons' heirs would later sell the ground to Henry J. Craycroft. Craycroft would later sell it to Wesley Phelps. Phelps then sold the tract to Joseph Collier. This was the northernmost 40 feet of lot 25. Collier next sold the lot and house to Harriet Travis, whose heirs then sold it to Sarah J. Ridgway. Sarah would next sell the lot to Nancy L. Crist.
Nancy would later enter into an arrangement with R. J. Meyler in which she deeded her part of lot 25 to him, and he deeded his part of lots 55 & 56 to her, with some money changing hands, as shown belowBullitt County Deed Book W, Pages 446-447
This indenture made and entered into the fourth day of March 1880 by R. J. Meyler and Josie B. his wife of the first part and Nancy L. Crist and B. H. Crist of the second part, all of the town of Shepherdsville, county of Bullitt, state of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the first parties in consideration of the sum of $300 due and payable, 1/3 in eight months, 1/3 in 16 months and 1/3 in 24 months from this date, evidenced by notes this day executed bearing interest at 6% from date till paid, and the further consideration that the second parties sell, convey and deliver to the first party, R. J. Meyler, one house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville on Main Street, and on the east side of Main Street, and on the northwest corner of lot number 25 on the alley between lots 25 and 26 and lots 9 and 10 according to the plan of Shepherdsville, and the same bought by the second party Nancy L. Crist of Sarah J. Ridgway on 23 August 1877.
They the first parties do hereby sell, convey and deliver to the second party, Nancy L. Crist, one house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville on Main Street, and on the corner of Main Street and Water Street, and parts of lots Nos. 55 & 56 on the plan of the town of Shepherdsville, and the same now occupied by H. O. Maraman, and the same bought by Phelps & Meyler at a decretal sale in a suit of them against Maraman; these lots extend from Main Street west to an alley and from Water Street north to Mrs. Ball's lot, and includ what is called the Batch & Herzog lot which lays on Water Street and the alley; and in consideration of the sale of the first parties to the second party, Nancy L. Crist, of said property, they the second parties hereby sell, convey and deliver to the said first party, R. J. Meyler, the house and lot first herein described, and they the said first and second parties to take possession of said property conveyed to them now, or as soon as Maraman moves out of the house now occupied by him.
To have and to hold the same as herein conveyed each warranty, the property conveyed by them against themselves and their heirs and all persons claiming by, through or under them; but the second parties owe one note of $100 with interest on it on the house and lot conveyed by them to the first party and to secure the first party and the property conveyed to him herein a lien is given and retained on the house and lot herein conveyed to Nancy L. Christ until said note is paid and also a lien is retained on said house and lot to secure the $300 and its interest from this date at 6% on the same.
To have and to hold the respective property herein conveyed together with all the improvements and appurtenances thereon and thereunto belonging, witness our hands day and date first written. (signed by) R. J. Meyler, Josie B. Meyler, Nancy L. Crist, B. H. Crist.
