On 6 Oct 1821, James J. Dozier sold a part of Shepherdsville lot #25 to Edward McDade who sold it to Richard P. Simmons.
Simmons' heirs would later sell the ground to Henry J. Craycroft. Craycroft would later sell it to Wesley Phelps. Phelps then sold the tract to Joseph Collier, as shown below. This was the northernmost 40 feet of lot 25. Collier would later sell it to Harriet Travis.
Bullitt County Deed Book R, Pages 354-355
This indenture witnesseth that on the __ day of __ 1860, Joseph Collier purchased of Wesley Phelps a house and lot in Shepherdsville for the sum of $300, and said Phelps executed a bond for a deed and all of said purchase money except $156.15 has been paid.
Now in consideration of the premises and the further consideration of the note of Joseph Collier for the balance of the purchase money, to-wit, $156.15 for which a lien is retained on the property herein conveyed, he the said Wesley Phelps and Nancy his wife hereby bargain, sell and convey unto said Joseph Collier, all of Bullitt County, the following property situated in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, one house and lot situated on Main Street between the lot now owned bhy Malinda Samuels and the jail lot, there being an alley between the jail lot and the lot herein conveyed, and being the same lot purchased by the said Phelps from H. J. Craycroft and recorded in Deed Book Q, page 370.
To have and to hold the said described property to him the said Collier and his heirs forever by this general warranty deed. Witness the signature of the grantors this 11th day of July 1867. (signed) Wesley Phelps, N. F. Phelps
