James J. Dozier to Edward McDade - Lot 25

On 6 Oct 1821, James J. Dozier sold a part of Shepherdsville lot #25 to Edward McDade, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 6th day of October 1821 between James J. Dozier and America his wife of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part and Edward McDade of the County of Jefferson of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said James J. Dozier and America his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $1000 to them in hand paid, the full receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day granted, bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien and convey unto the said Edward McDade and his heirs forever a certain lot of ground situate lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville containing forty feet in front and ninety-nine feet five inches back, being the most northwardly part of an half acte lot known in the first plan of said town by the number 20 and in the last plan of said town by number 25 on which lot is a dwelling house, kitchen, smoke house and well and ghe same which was conveyed by deed bearing date the 19th day of May 1817 by John Graham and Elizabeth his wife recorded in the office of the Bullitt County Court to John Chaddic, reference being had thereto will more fully appear.

To have and to hold the said lot of ground together with all and singular the improvements and advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to te said Edward McDade and his heirs forever and his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And he said James J. Dozier and America Dozier his wife for themselves and their heirs do convenant, promise and agree to and wihh the said E. McDade and his heirs that they will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend to him the said E. McDade and his heirs the said lot or parcel of ground with the appurtenances thereunto belonging against the claim or claims of themselves and their heirs and all other persons whatsoever claiming or pretending to claim the same.
