On 3 Aug 1840 Rufus K. Summers sold 5 Shepherdsville lots and a 4 acre tract adjoining the town to Jacob Bowman Jr. He had obtained Lot #1 at a tax auction, and sold it to Bowman as a quit claim without a title warranty. The other 4 lots (81, 82, 83 and 84) had been purchased by Summers from the town trustees in 1828. Bowman sold Lot #1 to Frederick Travis in 1847. Travis would sell Lot #1 to Francis Maraman in 1849. Maraman would then sell the house and lot to his sister-in-law Susan Maraman and her children in 1852. Susan then married Nathaniel W. Gatten on 15 Jul 1852, and on 10 Dec 1866 the lot and additional ground was sold to Mary Myer, wife of Stephen P. Myer, as shown below. They would sell the lot and adjoining ground to her brother George W. Simmons in 1873.
The William F. Maraman named in the first paragraph below is Susan's son Francis W. Maraman in the earlier deed.
