After the Shepherdsville Trustees elected to reduce Third Street from 80 to 40 feet, and then sell the extra 40 feet on the north side of Third Street, after dividing it into lots, George F. Pope purchased lots 81, 82, 83 and 84, and then assigned his certificate of purchase to Rufus K. Summers, as you will see below.

Whereas the Legislature of the State of Kentucky by an act passed on the 11th day of December 1793 vested 50 acres of land lying on the north side of Salt River at the falls of said river on Nacy Brashear, Samuel Crow, Michael Troutman, Frederic Pennabacker, Benjamin Stansbury, Joseph Brooks and John Essary as trustees for the purpose of laying off a town; in pursuance of which the said trustees laid out the town of Shepherdsville and made out and returned a plan thereof by which they made Third Street 80 feet wide; and whereas also the successors of the said trustees had a resurvey of said town made out a new plan thereof by which the said Third Street was reduced to 40 feet made, leaving to the trustees a strip of 40 feet wide on the north side of said town, which plan and acts of the said trustees now confirmed by an act of assembly passed the 15th day of January 1811. And whereon also since the acts aforesaid on the 20th day of November 1827 the successors of the trustees aforesaid by an order directed the said strip to be laid off into lots and numbered and sold to the highest bidder for the benefit of the trustees, which order was on the 1st day of December 1827 carried into effect, and George F. Pope purchased Lot No. 81 at the price of $4, No. 82 at the price of $4, No. 83 at the price of $2.62 1/2, and No 84 at the price of $1.62 1/2, making the sum of $12.25, and obtained from Brookey Barker, the town Collector a certificate of said purchase which acts of the trustees have been confirmed, and said George F. Pope has assigned the said certificate to Rufus K. Summers.
Now this indenture made the 27th day of November 1828 between Thomas Q. Willson, George W. Jenkins, John Chaddic and William Congrove, trustees of the town of Shepherdsville of the one part and Rufus K. Summers of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Thomas Q. Willson, George W. Jenkins, John Chaddic and William Congrove, trustees aforesaid, for and in consideration of the power invested in them by law and the said sum of $12.25 to them in hand paid by the said George F. Pope before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Rufus K. Summers, his heirs &c, the said lots of land numbered 81, 82, 83 and 84, being in and a part of the town of Shepherdsville as aforesaid.
To have and to hold the said four lots numbered as aforesaid, with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Rufus K. Summers, his heirs &c, adn to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever free and clear of and from all claim or claims whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Thomas Q. Willson, George W. Jenkins, John Chaddic and William Congrove, trustees as aforesaid, have hereunto set their hands and seals on the day and year within written.
