Ebenezer Younger to James J. Dozier - Shepherdsville Lot 31

Shepherdsville Lot #31 under the new plan was first purchased by James Halbert on 3 Apr 1818. He sold it to his son, Daniel Halbert on on 21 Apr 1819. Daniel then sold it to Ebenezer Younger on 6 Nov 1819. Next, Ebenezer sold it to James J. Dozier on 15 Apr 1820. Dozier next sold it to Joseph Hislop on 19 Mar 1821. And Hislop sold it to Francis Maraman on 10 Jan 1823.

This indenture of bargain and sale made and entered into this 15th day of April 1820 between Ebenezer Younger, alias Eben Younger, of Shepherdsville of the one part and James J. Dozier of the same place, both of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Younger for and in consideration of the sum of $180 to him in hand paid by the said James J. Dozier, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Dozier and his heirs forever a certain lot or parcel of land containing one half acre, situate in the said town of Shepherdsville, known in Shanks' plan of said town by the number 31 together with all the privileges and advantages thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the said lot of land number 31 with its appurtenances unto the said Dozier and his heirs forever to and for his and their only proper use, behoof, and benefit. And the said Younger doth covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Dozier and his heirs that he the said Younger will and his heirs shall warrant and defend forever to the said Dozier and his heirs the before described lot of land containing one half acre as aforesaid against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said E. Younger hath set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. (signed) Eben Younger. Witnesses: John Graham, James Bird.

As clerk of Bullitt County Court, I do certify that on the fourth day of this month James Bird and on this day John Graham, witnesses to the foregoing indenture, personally before me made oath that Eben Younger signed, sealed and acknowledged this said indenture in their presence, and delivered the same to James Dozier as and for his act and deed. Whereupon I have truly recorded the said indenture together with this certificate in my office as required by law. Given under my hand this 19th day of January 1821. (signed) James Halbert
