Bullitt County Deed Book C, Pages 459-460

This indenture made, and entered into the third day of April, and the year of our Lord, 1818 between James Alexander, John Graham and Charles Jones, as trustees of the town of Shepherdsville of the one part, and James Halbert of the other part. Whereas the said Halbert hath produced to the said trustees four several orders from Adam Shepherd, on whose land said town was established by an act of assembly and which orders state that the said Shepherd had received from, said Halbert, the consideration money in full for Lots number 31, 7, 30, and 5 in the new plan of said town and the northwardly half part of lot number 24 in the same plan of said town.

Now this indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises the said trustees do grant, bargain and sell unto the said James Halbert the said half acre lots No. 31, 30, 5 and 7, and the most northwardly half part of lot No. 24 in the new plan of said town together with all the advantages to the same belonging and in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the said lots and part of a lot to the said James Halbert and his heirs to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. In witness whereof the said James Alexander, John Graham and Charles Jones, trustees as aforesaid, have set their hands and seals the day and ear just above mentioned. (signed) James Alexander, John Graham, Charles Jones.
