Lot 30 (new plan) was one of the lots that James Halbert purchased from the town trustees. He sold it to Joel Carpenter, as shown below.

This indenture made this 27th day of October 1819 between James Halbert of the one part and Joel Carpenter of the other part both of Bullitt County and state of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the said James Halbert, for and in consideration of the sum of $50 current money to him in hand paid by the said Carpenter, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Joel Carpenter and his heirs &c forever a certain half-acre .. lot in the town of Shepherdsville known in the new plan of said town by the number 30, together with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said Joel Carpenter and his heirs forever to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said James Halbert for himself and his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said Carpenter and his heirs that the before described lot of land and appurtenance be and they will forever warrant and defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said James Halbert hath set his hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
