Joseph Hislop to Francis Maraman - Shepherdsville Lot 31

Shepherdsville Lot #31 under the new plan was first purchased by James Halbert on 3 Apr 1818. He sold it to his son, Daniel Halbert on on 21 Apr 1819. Daniel then sold it to Ebenezer Younger on 6 Nov 1819. Next, Ebenezer sold it to James J. Dozier on 15 Apr 1820. Dozier next sold it to Joseph Hislop on 19 Mar 1821. And Hislop sold it to Francis Maraman on 10 Jan 1823.

Bullitt County Deed Book E, Pages 88-89

Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Hislop of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, for and in consideration of the sum of $500 to me in hand paid by Francis Maraman of the County and State aforesaid, the receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge, I have this day sold, aliened, released and by these presents do bargain, sell, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Maraman and his heirs forever the house wherein I know live, together with the half acre lot of ground in the said town of Shepherdsville, the same on which I reside and have at this time enclosed. And I do hereby warrant and forever defend the same from all person or persons claiming or to claim th same to the said Maraman and his heirs forever. And I do further sell and possess the said Maraman of the following personal property, to wit, three cows, two of which are black and the other red, two beds, bed-clothing and bedsteads, and such articles as to them may appertain and belong, together with one bureau, one chest, one table, one cupboard with all and singular the several articles thereunto belonging such as cups, saucers, plats, knives, forks, spoons, dishes &c, together with all my household and kitchen furniture and every and all species of property which I am at this time legally possessed of. I do sell the same to the said Maraman for the aforesaid sum of $500 which to me he has paid, for the several species of property as here above recited. Given under my hand this 10th January 1823. State of Kentucky I the clerk of the County Court of Bullitt County do certify that on the 10th day of January 1823 Joseph Hislop came personally before me in my office and acknowledged and delivered the within indenture as for his act and deed. Whereupon I have at the instance of Francis Maraman recorded the same in my said office as by law required. (signed) George F. Pope.
