James and Martha Bunting sold this tract to A. H. Field. Field then sold it to Susan J. Anderson who sold it to R. J. Meyler. Meyler sold this lot to Frank P. Straus in 1881. Straus sold it to the Troutman Bros in 1899, as shown below on this plat from the T. C. Carroll collection.

This indenture made an entered into this 27th day of September 1899 buy in between Frank P Straus and Katie L Straus his wife of Louisville, Kentucky, parties of the first part and Troutman Bros of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, parties of the second part.
Witnesseth that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $1200 of which sum $700 is now paid cash in hand, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the balance of said purchase price $500 being in the form of a note executed by the parties of the second part, payable to the order of the parties of the first part 90 days from date, and bearing interest at the rate of 6% per annum from date, and for the purpose of securing the payment of said note for the unpaid purchase price a lien upon the property hereinafter described is expressly retained.
The parties of the first part hereby bargain, grant, sell and convey to the party of the second part with covenant of general warranty the following described property, to wit.
A certain house and lot in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky on Second Street and on Doctor's Alley, bounded on the east by Doctor's Alley and on the south by Second Street and west by the property of H. S. McCormick & children, A. C. Bowman & wife, and another house and lot called the Mrs. Ridgway lot, and on the north by the alley next to the jail and clerk's office lot, and the same being heretofore owned by A. H. Field and being part of lot No. 25 and all of lot No. 26 in the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and being the same conveyed to parties of the first part by R. J. Meyler &c on the 20th day of May 1881.
