R. J. Meyler to F. P. Straus - Shepherdsville Lot 26+

James and Martha Bunting sold this tract to A. H. Field. Field then sold it to Susan J. Anderson who sold it to R. J. Meyler. Meyler sold this lot to Frank P. Straus in 1881, as shown below. Straus sold it to the Troutman Bros in 1899, as shown below on this plat from the T. C. Carroll collection.

This indenture made and entered into this 20th day of May 1881 by R. J. Meyler and Josie B. Meyler his wife of the first part and F. P. Straus of the second part.

Witnesseth that the first parties in consideration of the sum of $1100, of which sum $600 is settled between the first and second party and the balance of the price, to wit, $500 due and payable in one and two years, bearing interest from this date at 6% for equal parts thereof, and retaining a lien on the property herein conveyed to secure the same notes therefore executed, the first parties convey, confirm and deliver to the second party with covenant of general warranty the following property, to wit: a certain house and lot in Shepherdsville where the first part resides on Second Street and on Doctor's Alley, bounded on the east by Doctor's Alley and on the south by Second Street and west by the property of M. A. McCormick & children, H. C. Bowman & wife, and the house and lot called the Mrs. Ridgway lot now owned by the first party, and on the north by the alley next to the jail and clerk's office lot, and the same heretofore owned by A. H. Field and being part of lot No. 25 and all of lot No. 26 in the town of Shepherdsville. Witness the hands of the first parties this 20th May 1881. (signed) R. J. Meyler, Josie B. Meyler
