On 27 Jun 1797 the Shepherdsville Town Trustees sold two lots to James Simpson, one numbered 9 on the original town plat and 37 on the new plat, and the other numbered 6 on the original plat and 55 on the new plat. Simpson sold lot 37 to Edward Frye on 28 Dec 1801. He sold lot 55 to Thomas Sanders on 23 Mar 1801. Then in a Circuit Court decree in a suit in which Thomas Allen sued Thomas Sanders, lot 55 was deeded to Allen on 9 May 1811, as shown below. Allen sold it to Elizabeth Styles on 23 Feb 1816.

This indenture made this ninth day of May in the year of our Lord 1811 between James Alexander and Daniel Wilson of one part as commissioners appointed by a decree of the Bullitt Circuit Court in the case of Thomas Allen, complainant against Thomas Sanders, defendant to convey by special warranty a house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville in case said Sanders should refuse to convey the same in pursuance of the directions of the decree aforesaid, and Thomas Allen of the other part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them the said James Alexander and Daniel Willson, commissioners aforesaid, in hand paid, being first called on by said Thomas Allen have given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm onto the said Thomas Allen, his heirs and assigns &c forever the said house and lot in the town aforesaid and distinguished by No. __ in the plan of said town, a reference to the papers of said suit of Thomas Allen against said Thomas Sanders will more fully appear.
To have had to hold the said house and lot as aforesaid with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Thomas Allen, his heirs and assigns forever to their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said James Alexander and Daniel Wilson, commissioners as aforesaid, do cut covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas Allen that they will forever warrant and defend the said house and lot against the said Thomas Sanders, his heirs &c, and person's claiming by the same or under him agreeable to the direction of the said decree; but not against the claim or claims of any other persons or persons. In testimony whereof the said commissioners have hereto set their hands and affixed their seals this day and date above written. (signed by commissioners)
