On 27 Jun 1797 the Shepherdsville Town Trustees sold two lots to James Simpson, one numbered 9 on the original town plat and 37 on the new plat, and the other numbered 6 on the original plat and 55 on the new plat. Simpson lot 55 to Thomas Sanders on 23 Mar 1801. Then in a Circuit Court decree in a suit in which Thomas Allen sued Thomas Sanders, lot 55 was deeded to Allen on 9 May 1811. Allen sold it to Elizabeth Styles on 23 Feb 1816, as shown below. After Elizabeth married Edward Crow, the lot was sold to Benjamin Summers and George W. Jenkins on 7 Aug 1824.

This indenture made this 23rd day of February 1816 between Thomas Allen and Elizabeth his wife of Bullitt County and state of Kentucky of the one part and Elizabeth Styles of the same county and state of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Thomas Allen and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of $200 current money of the United States to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Elizabeth Styles, her heirs &c forever a certain lot of land situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid, being in and a part of the town of Shepherdsville and known and designated on the old map or plan of said town by the number six and on the new plan thereof by the number 55, including the ground and stable now occupied by Charles Jones, being the same ground and premises which was decreed by the Bullitt Circuit Court in a suit (in chancery of said Thomas Allen against Thomas Sanders and others) and conveyed with special warranty by order and decree of said court by James Alexander and Daniel Wilson, two of the commissioners appointed in said order and decree to the said Thomas Allen, his heirs &c, which decree is recorded in the Bullitt County Court, but is together with the papers in the suit aforesaid, referred to for greater certainty.
To have and to hold the said lot of ground described as aforesaid with all the appurtenances unto the said Elizabeth Styles, her heirs &c forever to her and to their only proper use, benefit and behoof. And the said Thomas Allen and Elizabeth his wife for themselves, their heirs &c do covenant and agree to and with the said Elizabeth Styles that the said lots of ground and appurtenances shall be free and clear of and from all right and title of dower, and that the said Thomas Allen and Elizabeth his wife will and their heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant and defend the said a lot of ground with the appurtenances from themselves, their heirs &c and all persons claiming by from through or under them, and against Thomas G. Wood and his heirs, and Thomas Sanders and his heirs, and all persons claiming under them. And it is expressly agreed and understood that if the stable and ground on which it stands now occupied by Charles Jones should be taken away from the said Elizabeth Styles, her heirs &c by a better right or title that the said Thomas Allen, his heirs &c shall not be bound to refund any part of the purchase money of said ground and stable or in anyways liable therefore. But in case the balance of the lot is taken away from her, the said Thomas Allen is bound to repay the purchase money for that part.
