Jacob Bowman Heirs to James Doyle - Lots 45 & 46

On 27 Jun 1797, Benjamin Summers bought ten lots. Listed here are the lot numbers in the new plan and in parentheses the number in the old plan: Lots 41 (13), 42 (14), 21 (24), 45 (41), 46 (42), 47 (43), 48 (44), 64 (45), 63 (46), 79 (51). Summers then sold lots 45 and 46 to George Saunders on 16 May 1821. Then George sold the two lots to Thomas Sanders Sr. Thomas next sold these two lots to Weir Tilford and Abraham Field Jr. on 15 Jan 1823. In October 1827 Tilford and Field deeded the lots to Jacob Bowman. Jacob Bowman's heirs sold the lots to James Doyle in April 1844, as shown below. Then, in October 1851, lots 45 & 46 were sold by Doyle to Joseph Bowman.

This indenture made this 15th day of April 1844 between Joseph Bowman, Thomas J. Bowman and Mary Bowman his wife, Wilson Bowman and Mary his wife, Jacob W. Bowman and Mary Jane his wife, and George W. Bowman, heirs of Jacob Bowman dec'd of the one part and James Doyle of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Jacob Bowman's heirs, the party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of $660 secured to be paid in nine months from this date, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first part have sold and by these presents do sell and convey unto the said James Doyle and to his heirs and assigns forever the following lots of land and appurtenances in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County and state of Kentucky, to-wit.

Lots (No. 45 and 46) forty-five and forty-six with the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining; being the tan yard lots, and also all the houses, tan vats, bark mills and machinery and implements to the same attached as the same now is used and occupied for a tannery (the tan bark on hand excepted).

To have and to hold the same unto him, the said James Doyle, and to his heirs and assigns forever, and the said party of the first part covenant and agree hereby with said James Doyle that they will and their heirs, executors and administrators shall forever warrant, and defend the lots and appurtenances here sold unto him the said James Doyle and to his heirs and assigns forever against the claims of all persons whatsoever by this their deed in fee simple with general warranty. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors, the day herein written.
