George Sanders to Thomas Sanders Sr. - Shepherdsville Lots 45 & 46

On 27 Jun 1797, Benjamin Summers bought ten lots. Listed here are the lot numbers in the new plan and in parentheses the number in the old plan: Lots 41 (13), 42 (14), 21 (24), 45 (41), 46 (42), 47 (43), 48 (44), 64 (45), 63 (46), 79 (51). Summers then sold lots 45 and 46 to George Saunders on 16 May 1821. Then George sold the two lots to Thomas Sanders Sr. as shown below. Thomas next sold these two lots to Weir Tilford and Abraham Field Jr. on 15 Jan 1823.

This indenture made and entered into the 13th day of February 1822 between George Sanders and Elizabeth his wife of the county of Bullitt, state of Kentucky of the one part and Thomas Sanders Sr. of the same county and state of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said, George Sanders and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $3000 current money to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, and sold, aliened, released, enfeoffed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, enfeoff, convey, and confirm unto the said Thomas Sanders Sr., his heirs and assigns, two certain lots or parcels of land with all the appurtenances lying and being in Bullitt County and being a part of the town of Shepherdsville in the state aforesaid, and known and designated on the old plan of said town by the numbers 41 and 42, and on the new plan thereof by the numbers 45 and 46, and conveyed by Benjamin Summers and his wife to the said George Sanders by deed bearing date the 16th day of May 1821 and recorded in the clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court, reference being had thereto will more fully appear.

On lot No. 45 is erected a tan yard and said tan yard is now stocked with hides and leather, all of which hides and leather together with the tools and utensils belonging to the tan yard is also hereby conveyed and delivered over to the said Thomas Sanders Sr.

To have and to hold the said two lots of ground containing half an acre each with all the appurtenances thereto belonging, with the tan yard, stock of hides and leather and the tools belonging to said tan yard unto the said Thomas Sanders Sr., his heirs &c, free and clear of and from all right and title of dower or other encumbrance whatsoever.

And the said George Sanders and Elizabeth his wife for themselves, their heirs &c do covenant and agreed to and with the said Thomas Sanders Sr. that they will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend the said to lots of land and the personal property from themselves and their heirs, and from all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said George Sanders and Elizabeth his wife hereto set their hands and seals on the day and years first within written.
