On 27 Jun 1797, Benjamin Summers bought the following ten lots. Listed here are the lot numbers in the new plan and in parentheses the number in the old plan: Lots 41 (13), 42 (14), 21 (24), 45 (41), 46 (42), 47 (43), 48 (44), 64 (45), 63 (46), 79 (51).

This indenture made 27th day of June 1797 between Nacy Brashear, Samuel Crow, Michael Troutman, Frederick Pennybaker, Benjamin Stansbury, Joseph Brooks and John Essary, trustees for the town of Shepherdsville of the one part and Benjamin Summers of the said town of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said trustees in virtue of the power vested in them by an act of the General Assembly, passed the 11th day of December 1793 entitled "An ACt for Establishing a Town on the Lands of Adam Shepherd in the County of Jefferson," and also for and in consideration of the sum of 44 pounds, 7 shillings paid to the said Adam Shepherd agreeable to the directions of the said act, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell and convey unto the said Benjamin Summers ten certain lots of ground in the said town, known in the plan thereof by numbers 13, 14, 24, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46 and 51.
To have and to hold the said lots together with all and every of the appurtenances thereon and there unto belonging unto the said Benjamin Summers, his heirs and assigns forever.
Subject nevertheless to the conditions expressed in the aforesaid act of the General Assembly. And the said trustees unto the said Benjamin Summers, his heirs and assigns do hereby warrant and forever defend the aforesaid lots of land from the claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
And further the trustees aforesaid do hereby promise and agree to and with the said Benjamin Summers that they will at any time hereafter at the cost and charges in the law of him the said Benjamin Summers make, do, suffer or cause to be made done or suffered any further deed or deeds or other writing which he or his counsel learned in law may advise, devise or require for the better securing the aforesaid bargained and sold lots unto him the said Benjamin Summers, his heirs and assigns forever.
In witness whereof the said trustees have hereunto set their hands and seals day and year first written.
