Bullitt County History

William Hardman to Swearingen & Simmons - Shepherdsville Lots 5-6

On 2 Nov 1827, Matthew Wilson sold lots 5 and 6 to Brooky Barker. Barker sold both lots to William Standiford on 21 Jan 1833. Standiford the two lots to William Hardiman on 8 Sep 1838. He later sold the two lots to the firm of W. W. Swearingen & W. P. Simmons in 1839, as shown below. Note that this deed changes his surname from Hardiman to Hardman.

At some point prior to October 1874 (but likely earlier) Swearingen and Simmons gave a bond to R. J. Meyler for the sale of these two lots. However, no deed was ever made to Meyler. Then Meyler sold the 2 lots to the trustees of the Methodist Church parsonage on 28 Oct 1889.
