William Standiford to William Hardiman - Shepherdsville Lots 5-6

On 2 Nov 1827, Matthew Wilson sold lots 5 and 6 to Brooky Barker. Barker sold both lots to William Standiford on 21 Jan 1833. Standiford the two lots to William Hardiman on 8 Sep 1838, as shown below. He later sold the two lots to the firm of Swearingen & Simmons in 1839.


Bullitt County Deed Book I, Pages 123-124

This indenture made this eighth day of September in the year of our Lord 1838 between William Standiford of Jefferson County and state of Kentucky of the one part and William Hardiman of Bullitt County and same state of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said William Standiford for and in consideration of the sum of $100 current money to him paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged to the said William Standiford has sold and by these presents does sell and convey unto him the said William Hardiman and to his heirs and assigns forever the following described lots of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky being known by the lot numbers 5 and 6 in the new plan of said town, being a half acre each more or less, together with the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining.

To have and to hold the said two lots Nos. 5 and 6 aforesaid to him said William Hardiman and to his heirs and assigns forever, and the said William Standiford for himself, his heirs &c covenants to and with the said William Hardiman that he said William Standiford will and his &c shall forever warrant and defend the title to the said two lots 5 & 6 unto him the said William Hardiman and to his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of him said William Standiford and his heirs and all other persons whatsoever by this his deed in fee simple and general warranty.

Witness the hand and seat of the said William Standiford the date first herein written.
