Shepherdsville lot 54 had originally been purchased by Edward Frye in 1797. He next sold it to John L. Summers of Maryland in 1800. At some point it came into the possession of John B. Summers who sold it to Lewis Willcoxen. Willcoxen would later sell the lot to Thomas Q. Willson. Willson, in an arrangement with Rufus K. Summers, sold the lot to Richard P. Simmons.
Simmons would continue to own the lot until his death. It was sold by his heirs to George W. Miles in 1857. Miles then sold it to William Walden in 1864. Walden then sold it to Andon Gild, a carpenter and immigrant from Baden, Germany. Gild sold the lot to Susie E. Bowman in 1874 as shown below.
The Bowmans, via a court case, would later sell the lot to George W. Maraman in 1882.
