John B. Summers to Lewis Willcoxen - Shepherdsville Lot 54

Shepherdsville lot 54 had originally been purchased by Edward Frye in 1797. He next sold it to John L. Summers of Maryland in 1800. At some point it came into the possession of John B. Summers who sold it to Lewis Willcoxen as shown below. Willcoxen would later sell the lot to Thomas Q. Willson.

Know all men by these presents that I John B. Summers of the County Bullitt and State Kentucky have this day bargained and sold to Lewis Willcoxen of the county and state aforesaid of house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville No. 54 on Water Street on the 18th day of October 1821 between the said J. B. Summers of the county and state aforesaid and Lewis Willcoxen of the county and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Willcoxen as aforesaid and in consideration of the premises the sum of five dollars, sixty two and a half cents paid to me in hand received whereof are hereof acknowledged, hath sold and by these presents doth sell, convey, alien, release and confirm unto the said Willcoxen, his heirs &c the aforesaid lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville with all its appurtenances, known in the new plan of said town by No. 54.

To have and to hold said lot of ground No. 54 with all its appurtenances unto the said Willcoxen his heirs &c forever to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof. The said J. B. Summers as aforesaid hereby conveying all the right, title, interest and claim unto the said Willcoxin, agent for the heirs of J. L. Summers dec'd. Said J. B. Summers only conveys his right, title &c deeded to him by George Sanders, collector of the town tax of Shepherdsville. In testimony whereof the said Summers hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and year written. [signed by John B. Summers]
