Lewis Willcoxen to Thomas Q. Willson - Shepherdsville Lot 54

Shepherdsville lot 54 had originally been purchased by Edward Frye in 1797. He next sold it to John L. Summers of Maryland in 1800. At some point it came into the possession of John B. Summers who sold it to Lewis Willcoxen. Willcoxen would later sell the lot to Thomas Q. Willson as shown below. Willson, in an arrangement with Rufus K. Summers, would sell the lot to Richard P. Simmons at a later time.

This indenture made and entered into this 8th day of April in the year 1830 between Lewis Willcoxen of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky on the one part and Thomas Q. Willson of the same county and state of the other part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum twenty by the said Willson to the said Willcoxen in hand paid, he the said Willcoxen sell and conveys and by these presents sells and conveys to the said Willson a certain parcel or lot of land situate lying and being in the said County of Bullitt and Town of Shepherdsville, to wit.

Lot number 54 in the plan of said town, being the same conveyed to said Willcoxen by John B. Summers. To have and to hold the said lot of ground with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Willson, his heirs and assigns forever, and said Willcoxen for himself, his heirs &c covenants that he will warrant and defend said lot against himself and all persons claiming under him, but not against the claim of any other person or persons whatever. In testimony the said Willcoxen hereto sets his hand and seal (signed by grantor)
