Shepherdsville lot 54 had originally been purchased by Edward Frye in 1797. He next sold it to John L. Summers of Maryland in 1800. At some point it came into the possession of John B. Summers who sold it to Lewis Willcoxen. Willcoxen would later sell the lot to Thomas Q. Willson. Willson, in an arrangement with Rufus K. Summers, sold the lot to Richard P. Simmons.
Simmons would continue to own the lot until his death. It was sold by his heirs to George W. Miles in 1857. Miles then sold it to William Walden in 1864, as shown below. Walden would later sell it to Andon Gild.

For and in consideration of the sum of $25 cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I George W. Miles of Jefferson County, Ky., have this day granted and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto William Walden of Bullitt County, Ky., his heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty a certain lot of ground supposed to be 1/2 acre with the appurtenances thereunto belonging lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Ky., and known on plat of said town as Lot No. 54. To have and to hold the said lot forever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 24th day of February 1864. (signed by Miles)
