Joel H. Tucker to R. F. Hays - Town Lot 27

On 29 Mar 1849 the heirs of John S. Thixton sold Shepherdsville lot 27 to Dr. Joseph F. Birkhead, who sold it to Dr. Samuel A. McKay 20 years later. Following McKay's death the lot was sold to E. W. Hall. Hall had apparently sold half of the lot to F. P. Straus for on 1 Nov 1887 the two of them together sold the lot to Joel H. Tucker. Tucker then sold it to R. F. Hays as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this the 28th day of November 1891 by and between J. H. Tucker and Lizzie Tucker, his wife of the first part and R. F. Hays, party of the second part, all of Bullitt County Kentucky.

Witness that for and in consideration of the sum of $1000 paid and to be paid as follows: $433.10 cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and the further consideration of the party of the second part assuming the payment of a note dated the first day of November 1887 for $200 due and payable on the first day of November 1889, credited by $80 paid June 28, 1890 and $80 paid January 3, 1891, and one note dated the first day of November 1887 for $200 due and payable on the first day of November 1890, and one note dated the first day of November 1887 for $200 due and payable on the first day of November 1891 all bearing interest from date and made payable to E. W. Hall and F. P. Straus.

The said J. H. Tucker and Lizzie Tucker his wife have granted, bargained, and sold, and hereby sell, convey and deliver to the said R. F. Hays, his heirs and assigns with covenant of general warranty the following described property situated in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, viz: one house and lot No. 27 on the new plan of Shepherdsville on Second Street and Doctor's Alley fronting about 100 feet on Second Street and running back about 200 feet to an alley running by the jail lot, being the same property conveyed to S. A. McKay on 1st September 1869 by Joseph F. Birkhead and wife, and by James Y. Pope, executor of S. A. McKay, to E. W. Hall on 11 August 1884, 1/2 of which was afterward conveyed to F. P. Straus by E. W. Hall, and on the first day of November 1887 conveyed to J. H. Tucker by E. W. Hall and F. P. Straus.

To have and to hold said described property with all the improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said second party, his heirs and assigns forever. Witness the hands of the grantors this the day and year first herein written.
