On 29 Mar 1849 the heirs of John S. Thixton sold Shepherdsville lot 27 to Dr. Joseph F. Birkhead, who sold it to Dr. Samuel A. McKay 20 years later. Following McKay's death the lot was sold to E. W. Hall, as shown below. Hall would later sell it to Joel H. Tucker.

This indenture made and entered into this the 11th day of August 1884 by and between James Y. Pope, executor of S. A. McKay, deceased, and R. A. McKay, widow of the said decedent, parties of the first, and E. W. Hall party of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky except R. A. McKay who resides in the city of Louisville.
Witnesseth: For and in consideration of the sum of $750, one-half of which sum is cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and the remaining half to be paid on the 1st day of March 1885, the said James Y. Pope as executor of the last will and testament of the said S. A. McKay deceased, and by virtue of the power vested in him by the provisions of said will, and the R. A. McKay, widow of the said decedent do by these presents bargain, grant, sell and convey unto the said E. W. Hall, his heirs and assigns forever the following described real estate situated in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, to-wit: one house and lot No. 27 in the new plan of Shepherdsville on Second Street and Doctor's Alley, fronting about 100 feet on Second Street and running back about 200 feet to an alley running by the jail lot, being the same property conveyed to S. A. McKay on the 1st of September 1869 by Joseph F. Birkhead and wife by deed recorded in Bullitt County Clerk's office in Deed Book R, page 402.
The said R. A. McKay conveys all her dower rights in and to said property all such title as the said S. A. McKay had to such property as conveyed by this deed.
