Malinda Samuels to Richard H. Field - 2 Shepherdsville Lots

John Graham was the first to purchase Shepherdsville lots 11 and 12. He sold them to Nicholas Simmons in 1826. Simmons would later sell them to Noah C. Summers. Summers then sold it to Robert F. Samuels. Following his death and by his will, his widow Malinda Samuels sold the lots to Richard H. Field, as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book Q, Pages 370-371

This indenture and deed of conveyance entered into this 10th day of April 1866 between Malinda Samuels of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the first part and Richard H. Field of the same county and state of the second part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $1800 of which there is paid the sum of $1000, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and the balance the party of the second part has executed his two notes of $400 each of even date herewith payable in one and two years, she the said party of the first part has granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the party of the second part and to his heirs the lots Nos. 11 & 12 in the town of Shepherdsville, devised to the party of the first part by the will of her husband, R. F. Samuels dec'd, and to him conveyed by Noah C. Summers on which is located a frame dwelling house, outhouses &c.

To have and to hold said house and lots with the improvements thereon unto the party of the second part, his heirs &c. And the party of the second part for herself, her heirs &c covenants and agrees that she will and her heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title to said property against the claims of all persons whatever.
