An advertisement in the Kentucky Gazette on on 7 Aug 1815 led us to investigate the location of a large tract of land claimed by William Fleming, which in turn led to the location of several of the neighboring surveys. While it seems possible that the southernmost part of Fleming's survey dips down into present day Bullitt County, most of it lay to the north in Jefferson County. Nevertheless, we will share what we have learned about these surveys in the hope that other researchers will find the information useful.
This drawing shows the relationships of these tracts to one another. As you can see, there appears to be some overlapping of several of the tracts. The links below will take you to pages that describe each of them in more detail.

The museum, along with its research room, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday appointments are available by calling 502-921-0161 during our regular weekday hours. Admission is free. The museum, as part of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is classified as a 509(a)2 public charity.
