David Haldeman Jr. to James Wright - 5 Mt. Washington Lots

Martin G. Holmes relinquished these five town lots to David Haldeman Jr. who then sold the lots to James Wright on 3 Mar 1845, as shown below. Wright sold lots 9, 17 and likely 13 to Isaac N. Parrish in July 1858. Then in August he sold the remaining two lots, 21 & 25, to William T. McGee.

This indenture made an entered into the third day of March 1845 by and between David Haldeman Jr., a citizen of the Republic of Texas by his agent and attorney in fact, David Haldeman Sr. of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and James Wright of the town of Mt. Washington, Bullitt County and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said David Haldeman Jr. by his agent & attorney in fact, has this day for and in consideration of the sum of $900 granted, bargained and sold, and do by these presents grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Wright five lots of land with the appurtenances thereon situate, lying and being in the town of Mt. Washington, county and state aforesaid, known and designated on the plat of said town by the numbers 9, 13, 17, 21 & 25, being the same lots sold and conveyed by M. G. Holmes to said David Haldeman Jr. by deed which is recorded in the clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court.

To have and to hold the said described lots with the appurtenances unto the said James Wright and his heirs to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever; and the said David Haldeman Jr. by his agent and attorney in fact covenants and agrees to and with the said James Wright that the title to the said five lots hereby bargained, sold and conveyed he will warrant and forever defend unto the said Wright, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns from the claim of all persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said David Haldeman Jr. by his agent and attorney in fact hereto sets his hand and affixes his seal the day and year first written. (signed by grantor's agent)
