Edward & Elizabeth Crow to George L. Robards - Lots 62 & 77 (new plan)

On 27 Jun 1797, the Shepherdsville Trustees deeded 2 lots to John Moore which would later be designated as lots 62 and 77 in the new plan of Shepherdsville, but which were identified as lots 47 and 49 in the old plan.

Moore would later sell the 2 lots to Elizabeth Styles. Then, after Elizabeth married Edward Crow, and together they sold the lots to George L. Robards, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 23rd day of March 1819 between Edward Crow and Elizabeth, his wife of the county of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and George L. Robards of the county and Commonwealth aforesaid.

Witnesseth that the said Edward Crow and Elizabeth, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of $200 current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge and thereof forever acquit and discharge the said George L. Robards, his heirs, executors and administrators, have bargained, sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and do hereby bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said George L. Robards, his heirs and assigns forever two certain lots of ground lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville and known upon the old plan of said town by the numbers 47 and 49, and in the new plan of said town by the numbers 62 and 77, being the same lots which was conveyed by John Moore and Nancy his wife to Elizabeth Styles, now Elizabeth Crow, wife of the said Edward Crow, by deed bearing date the 6th day of December 1815, and of record in the clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court, said lots containing one half and one quarter of an acre.

To have to hold the aforesaid two lots of land unto the said George L. Robards, his heirs and assigns forever; and to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof. And the said Edward Crow and Elizabeth his wife do covenant and agree to and with the said George L. Robards and his heirs and assigns that the premises hereby bargained and sold now are and forever hereafter shall be free and clear of and from all right and title of dower or other encumbrances whatsoever. And that they said, Edward Crow and Elizabeth his wife will, and their heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant and forever defend the said two lots of land with all the appurtenances unto the said George L. Robards, his heirs and assigns against all persons whatever lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said Edward Crow, and Elizabeth, his wife hereto set their hands and affix their seals the day and year first herein written.
