John Moore to Elizabeth Styles - Lots 62 & 77 (new plan)

On 27 Jun 1797, the Shepherdsville Trustees deeded 2 lots to John Moore which would later be designated as lots 62 and 77 in the new plan of Shepherdsville, but which were identified as lots 47 and 49 in the old plan.

Moore would later sell the 2 lots to Elizabeth Styles, as shown below.

This indenture made the sixth day of December 1815 between John Moore and Nancy his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Elizabeth Styles of the same county and state of the other part.

Witness that the said John Moore, and Nancy his wife for and in consideration of $40 current money of the United States to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Elizabeth Styles, her heirs and assigns forever two certain lots of land, situate, lying, and being in the county of Bullitt and town of Shepherdsville and known and designated on the old plan of said town by the numbers 47 and 49, and in the new plan of said town by the numbers 62 and 77, being the same lots which were conveyed by the trustees of said town to the said John Moore by deed bearing date the 27th day of June 1797 and recorded in the office of the county court of Bullitt County, reference being therein had will more fully appear.

To have and to hold the said two lots of land with all the appurtenances unto the said Elizabeth Styles, her heirs and assigns to her and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said John Moore and Nancy his wife do covenant and agree with the said Elizabeth Styles and her heirs and assigns that the premises hereby bargained and sold now are and forever hereafter shall be and remain free and clear of and from all right and title of dower or other encumbrances whatever. And that they said Moore and wife will and their heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant and forever defend the two lots of land with all the appurtenances unto the said Elizabeth Styles, her heirs and assigns, against all and every person or person whatever lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said John Moore and Nancy his wife hereto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
