Seligman Bach & Solomon Herzog to H. O. Maraman
South Part of Shepherdsville Lot 55

Benjamin Summers and George W. Jenkins had jointly purchased Shepherdsville lot #55 from Edward and Elizabeth Crow on 7 Aug 1824. Then Summers sold his share of the lot to Abraham Field. Field and Jenkins later divided the lot between them; and Jenkins sold his part to Alonzo S. Burleigh on 8 Apr 1851. Burleigh sold it to Bach and Herzog of Louisville. They would later sell it to Henry O. Maraman as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book S, Pages 73-74

This deed made and entered into this 24th day of October 1870 by Seligman Bach and Clara Bach his wife, Solomon Herzog, Jeanatt his wife of the first part, and H. O. Maraman of the second part.

Witnesseth that the first parties for and in consideration of the sum of $60 secured to be paid by the note of the second party with Wesley Phelps his security, bearing even date herewith and with interest from date payable in 60 days, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby convey unto the second party with general warranty one lot of ground in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Ky., and laying on School Alley and Water Street and being part of Lot No. 55 on the town plan, having about 100 feet front and 82 1/2 feet back or deep, more or less, and for a more specific description, see the deed of division between Abram Field and G. W. Jenkins recorded in Deed Book S, page 205, also deed of G. W. Jenkins to A. S. Burleigh, Deed Book M, page 269, and Burleigh to Bach and Herzog, Deed Book N, page 30.

To have and to hold the same against all claims. Witness the hands of the first parties the day and date first above written. (signed by grantors)
