Alonzo S. Burleigh to Seligman Bach & Solomon Herzog
South Part of Shepherdsville Lot 55

Benjamin Summers and George W. Jenkins had jointly purchased Shepherdsville lot #55 from Edward and Elizabeth Crow on 7 Aug 1824. Then Summers sold his share of the lot to Abraham Field. Field and Jenkins later divided the lot between them; and Jenkins sold his part to Alonzo S. Burleigh on 8 Apr 1851. Burleigh sold it to Bach and Herzog of Louisville as shown below. They would later sell it to Henry O. Maraman.


Bullitt County Deed Book N, Pages 30-31

This indenture made and entered into this 25th day of February 1854 by and between Alonzo S. Burleigh and Elizabeth his wife of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky of the first part and Seligman Bach and Solomon Herzog of the City of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $300 to them cash in hand paid by the parties of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the said Seligman Bach and Solomon Herzog a certain lot of ground situate lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville in the new plan of said town and known by its number 55 and contains about 100 feet front and about 82 1/2 feet back more or less according to the partition line between A. Field and G. W. Jenkins as recorded in the Bullitt County Court Clerk's office, Book G, Page 205.

And the same conveyed by G. W. Jenkins and wife to A. S. Burleigh by deed recorded in the Bullitt County Court Clerk's office Deed Book M, Pages 269 and 270.

To have and to hold the same to the said Seligman Bach and Solomon Herzog and their heirs and assigns forever to their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons claiming or to claim the same in any manner whatever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set one hands and seals the day and date first above written. [signed by grantors]
