In 1820, via a Circuit Court decree, John Beckwith as commissioner deeded Shepherdsville lot #44 to William Jones from the estate of James Brown deceased. This was following a court suit brought by Elizabeth Griffin against the Brown estate. Richard P. Simmons also appears to have a claim to this lot for on 12 Dec 1832 he deeded it to Jones as a quit claim. Jones next sold the lot to Joseph R. Murray, as shown below. Following Murray's death his executrix sold the lot to Henry C. Thomas.

This indenture of bargain and sale made and entered into this 19th day of November 1832 between William Jones and Anna Jones his wife of the town of Shepherdsville of the one part and Joseph R. Murray of the same town, all of the county of Bullitt, the other part.
Witnessed that the said, William and Anna Jones, for an in consideration of the sum of $500 to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day granted, bargained, and sold, aliened and confirmed, and by these presents do sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said Joseph R. Murray and his heirs forever, a certain lot of ground situate in the said town of Shepherdsville containing 1/2 acre, be the same more or less, being the lot on which the said William Jones now resides, and the same which is known in the plan of the said town of Shepherdsville by its number 44.
To have to hold the said lot of ground together with all the improvements, privileges, and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said Joseph R. Murray, and his heirs forever.
And the said William and Anna Jones do covenant with the said Joseph R. Murray that they will for themselves and their heirs warrant the title of the said lot to the said Joseph R. Murray, and his heirs to his and theie only use, benefit and behoof forever.
And that they will further warrant the title thereto against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said, William and Anna Jones have hereto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and date herein before written.
