In 1820, via a Circuit Court decree, John Beckwith as commissioner deeded Shepherdsville lot #44 to William Jones from the estate of James Brown deceased. This was following a court suit brought by Elizabeth Griffin against the Brown estate. Richard P. Simmons also appears to have a claim to this lot for on 12 Dec 1832 he deeded it to Jones as a quit claim. Jones next sold the lot to Joseph R. Murray. Following Murray's death his executrix sold the lot to Henry C. Thomas, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this eleventh day of February 1841 between Julia Murray executrix of the last will and testament of Joseph R. Murray dec'd of the first part and Henry C. Thomas of the second part, both of the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the said Julia Murray for and in consideration of the sum of $700 (paid as follows: $200 paid in hand, $250 to be paid in twelve months from this day, and $250 to be paid in two years from this day as evidenced by notes for the same) hath granted, bargained and sold, and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the said Henry C. Thomas, his heirs and assigns forever a certain lot or parcel of ground lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and known and designated in the new plan thereof by number 44, and being the same lot and appurtenances conveyed by William Jones and wife to Joseph R. Murray by deed bearing date the 19th day of November 1832 and recorded in the Clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court, and to the said Henry C. Thomas, his heirs and assigns forever against the claim of the said Julia Murray, and against all other persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Julia Murray hath hereto set her hand and affixed her sea this day and date aforesaid.
