On 6 Mar 1854, Joseph P. Simmons of Louisville sold parts of Shepherdsville lots 23 and 24 to William Shane and John S. Smith. Smith died prior to 15 Jan 1855 when Shane and Woodford McDowell were granted administration of his estate. Then, as shown below, by court order, the property passed into the hands of Shane who sold it to Robert Joyce who gave it to Thomas Joyce.
Then on 22 Jun 1863, Thomas Joyce deeded it to his son, Robert F. Joyce as shown below.

For and in consideration of the love and affection, I bear to my son, Robert F. Joyce, and the further consideration of one dollar cash in hand to me paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day granted, bargained, and sold and by these present do grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Robert F. Joyce, and his heirs and assigns forever, the following real and personal property, to-wit: Lots No. 23 and 24 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky; the same which he now occupies together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging.
Also the following personal property, to-wit: all the movable effects in the bar room, all the dining room furniture, one lounge, one wardrobe, one bureau and bookcase stand table, bowl and pitchers for parlor and six cushion chairs, two beds and bedding and furniture in the room, four beds and bedding, one bureau, one table wash bowl and looking glass, two beds and bedding, table and wash bowl, two beds and bedding, two tables, looking glass and wash bowl, two beds and bedding, table and looking glass and three beds and bedding, which were sold by R. W. Deats as deputy sheriff for Bullitt County under Venditioni Exponas issued from the office of the Bullitt Circuit Court in the name of James Collings vs said R. F. Joyce, and which is referred to in. Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of June 1863 (signed) Thomas Joyce.
