F. P. Straus to William T. Morrow - Part of Town Lot 25

John and Eliza Rickerson sold the house and lot they had purchased from H. O. Maraman to Wilhite Carpenter in August 1874. Carpenter sold it to E. W. Hall. Hall's heirs sold it to F. P. Straus. Straus then sold it to William T. Morrow.


Bullitt County Deed Book 30, Pages 555-557

This indenture made and entered into this 8th day of January 1895 by and between F. P. Straus and Kate his wife of the first part and W. T. Morrow of the second part, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $200 cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledge, the first parties have this day sold, bargained and conveyed with covenant of general warranty to the said W. T. Morrow, his heirs and assigns forever a house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, being part of lot No. 25, the same property conveyed by Wilhite Carpenter and wife to E. W. Hall and by E. W. Hall's heirs to F. P. Staus 14th day of November 1892 (see Deed Book No. 29, page 577, Bullitt County Clerk's office). Said lot is on Main Street adjoining the old clerk's office fronting on Main Street 39 feet and bounded as follows.

Beginning at the corner of Sue E. Bowman's lot on Main Street, running back with her line 43 feet to the Craycroft lot now owned by J. F. Smith, then with J. F. Smith's line 39 feet to the old brick clerk's office, thence with the said clerk's office 43 feet to Main Street, thence with Main Street 39 feet to the beginning.

There is a strip of ground three feet wide reserved by Wilhite Carpenter and wife in deed made to E. W. Hall. This strip of ground is next to the brick clerk's office beginning on Main Street and running back to the Craycroft or Smith lot. This strip is not conveyed by this deed but is reserved by said F. P. Straus, his heirs and assigns.

To have and to hold said house and lot and all the appurtenances thereon and thereunto belonging to said W. T. Morrow, his heirs and assigns forever. Witness the hands of the grantors this the day and date first herein written. (signed) F. P. Straus, Kate L. Straus.
