Wilhite Carpenter to E. W. Hall - Part of Town Lot 25

John and Eliza Rickerson sold the house and lot they had purchased from H. O. Maraman to Wilhite Carpenter in August 1874. Carpenter sold it to E. W. Hall. Hall's heirs sold it to F. P. Straus. Straus then sold it to William T. Morrow.


Bullitt County Deed Book 27, Pages 282-283

This deed made and entered into this the 27th day of November 1888 by and between Wilhite Carpenter and Letitia Carpenter his wife of the first part and E. W. Hall of the second part, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that the first parties for and in consideration of the sum of $250 cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and hereby sell, convey and deliver to the second party, his heirs and assigns, forever with covenant of general warranty a house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville, county of Bullitt, state of Kentucky, being part of lot No. 25, being the same property conveyed by H. O. Maraman to John Rickerson, and by John Rickerson to Wilhite Carpenter, said lot is on Main Street adjoining the old brick clerk's office, fronting on Main Street 39 feet, bounded as follows.

Beginning at the corner of Sue E. Bowman's lot on Main Street, running back with her line 43 feet to the Craycroft lot, now owned by James F. Smith, thence with James F. Smith's line 39 feet to the old brick clerk's office, thence with the brick clerk's office 43 feet to Main Street, thence with Main Street 39 feet to the beginning.

The first parties reserve a strip of ground three feet wide next to the brick clerk's office beginning on Main Street, running back __ feet to the Craycroft or Smith lot. This is not conveyed by this deed but is reserved to the first parties, their heirs and assigns.

To have and to hold he said house and lot and all its appurtenances thereon and thereunto belonging to the said E. W. Hall, his heirs and assigns forever. Witness the hands of the grantors the day and year first herein written. (signed) Wilhite Carpenter, Letitia (her x mark) Carpenter
