Original Shepherdsville Lots - Lot 24

On 2 Jun 1825, Jonathan Gore Jr. deeded the northern half of Shepherdsville lot #24 in John Beckwith as shown below.

This indenture made this second day of June in the year of our Lord 1825 between Jonathan Gore Jr. and Monah his wife of the town of Shepherdsville, County of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part, and John Beckwith of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jonathan Gore Jr. for and in consideration of the sum of $1000 gold or silver current money of the United States to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said John Beckwith, his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land or lot of ground situate in the town of Shepherdsville and county and commonwealth aforesaid containing one quarter acre, being part of the lot of ground known in the new plan of said town by its number 24, and being the most northwestwardly part thereof, being the same which the said Gore purchased of James Halbert and wife by deed bearing date the third of April 1818, and of record in the Bullitt County Court Clerk's office in deed book C, folio 457.

Together with all and singular the premises thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the lot of land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto to said John Beckwith, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Monah his wife for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the said John Beckwith, his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever, do and will forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date first above written.

Memo: Whereas I Jonathan Gore Jr. now hold Frederic W. S. Grayson's bond for the conveyance for a lot of ground joining the same herein conveyed, and I have this day sold in conjunction with that herein sold and conveyed and being part of the purchase to John Beckwith, and quarter of an acre off the said tract for which Grayson's bond as also an addition to said quarter of an acre of 25 by 40 feet, the said 25 by 40 feet is on the southwest end of the quarter acre of Grayson's lot, being part the same including in the said bond from Grayson to Gore and being the same on which said Gore is now about to erect a stable, and the said Gore has this day transferred to the said Beckwith the said Grayson's bond or so much thereof as will cause a conveyance to him the said Beckwith of the lot hereby sold or intended to be sold to him. And the consideration of $1000 mentioned in this deed is the full consideration of the land herein conveyed, and also of that hereby intended to be conveyed by assignment of the bond aforesaid.
