Henry Oldham to Nathan Miles Jr. - Shepherdsville Lot 43

On 7 Jun 1808, William De Rohan sold Shepherdsville Lot 43 (new plan) to William Graham. Graham then sold it to Henry Oldham on 18 Jul 1808. Oldham next sold it to Nathan Miles Jr. on 21 Nov 1821, as shown below. Miles next sold it to John Williams on 13 Sep 1823.

This indenture made this 21st day of November 1821 between Henry Oldham and Elizabeth his wife of Bullitt County and state of Kentucky of the one part and Nathan Miles Jr. of the same county and state of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Henry Oldham and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $80 current money to them in hand paid by the said Miles, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said Miles, hath granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Nathan Miles Jr., his heirs and assigns, forever a certain half acre lot in the town of Shepherdsville known in the old plan of said town by the number 16 and in the new plan of said town by the number 43, together with its appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said a lot of land numbered as aforesaid to the said Nathan Miles Jr. and his heirs forever, two and four years and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And they said Henry Oldham and Elizabeth his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant, promise, and agree to, and with the said Nathan Miles Jr. and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns that they said Henry Oldham and wife will and their heirs, executors, administrators shall warrant and forever defend the said half age lot and its appurtenances to him the said Nathan Miles Jr., his heirs &c against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. In witness whereof they the said Henry Oldham and Elizabeth his wife have set their hands and seals the day and year first above mentioned.
