John Collins bought this lot in 1797, and it came into the possession of Harmon Greathouse at Collins' death. Greathouse then sold it to Henry Jones who sold a portion of it to John M. Jones who then sold it to Frederick Travis as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this fourth day of November in the year of our Lord 1824 between John M. Jones of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Frederick Travis of the same county and state of the other part
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $2000 by the said Travis to the said Jones, in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he said Jones has given, granted and sold, and by these presents does give, grant, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm the said Frederick Travis, his heirs, and assigns forever a certain lot or parcel of ground situate, lying, and being in the town of Shepherdsville, and bounded as follows, to-wit.
Beginning at the west corner of 30 feet front of ground sold out of lot No. 58 in the plan of said town (called the new plan) and conveyed by Henry Jones to Weir Tilford & Co., running a westwardly course binding on the street fronting Salt River to the middle partition or wall dividing the brick tenements built on said lot by said Jones, running thence upon a straight line to the back part on line of said lot, running thence eastwardly with the line of said lot as per plan to the corner from thence to Tilford & Co.'s back line, and with said Tilford & Co.'s line to the beginning, be the same more or less, being the same conveyed by Henry Jones to the said John M. Jones by deed bearing date 15 day of April 1823.
To have and to hold the said lot of ground as above described with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Frederick Travis, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John M. Jones, for himself, his heirs &c does hereby covenant to and with the said Frederick Travis that he will and his heirs shall forever warrant and defend the said premises to him, the said Travis, his heirs, executors or administrators, or any person claiming or to claim the same by, through, from or under him or them, and also against the claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said John M. Jones has hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written.
