Following a court decree, part of Shepherdville town lot No. 58 and house, and a ten acre tract belonging to John H. Baker were sold at auction to Matthew Wilson. Following Wilson's death, his son and executor Upton Wilson sold the part of Lot No. 58 to Thomas Joyce as shown below.

Whereas my father Matthew Wilson departed this life, first making his last will and testament by which I was appointed his executor, and desiring me to sell the house and lot being part of lot No. 58 on which is situated the store house of Weir Tilford, do I I publicly sold the same and Thomas Joyce became the purchaser for the sum of $500 and has paid the purchase money.
Now in consideration of the premises and the payment of the purchase money, I do hereby convey unto said Thomas Joyce said house and lot, being the southeast corner of said lot No. 58 fronting the river 30 feet and extending back the same width 110 feet.
To have and to hold said lot unto the said Thomas Joyce and his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I hve hereunto set my hand this 3rd day of June 1858. (signed) Upton Wilson, executor of Matthew Wilson.
