Benjamin M. Wible to Martin G. Holmes - 5 Mt. Washington Lots

Bullitt County Deed Book K, Pages 18-19

This indenture made and entered into this 8th day of October 1842 by and between Benjamin M. Wible of the one part and Martin G. Holmes of the other part, both of Mt. Washington, Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that the said B. M. Wible for and in consideration of the sum of $1,000 good and lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said Holmes, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has this day granted, bargained and sold, and do by these presents grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Holmes five lots of ground situate, lying on South Back Street in the town of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, containing one-half acres more or less, each lot, and numbered on the plat of said town, 9, 13, 17, 21 and 25.

To have and to hold said lots of ground with the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Holmes and his heirs, to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said Benjamin M. Wible doth here covenant and agree to and with the said Holmes that the lots hereby bargained and sold and conveyed he will and his heirs shall warrant and forever defend the title unto the said Holmes, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns from the claim of all persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said Benjamin M. Wible has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first mentioned. (signed) B. M. Wible
