Jenus White to Lorenzo Hogland - Part of Lot 42

In 1858, Jenus White of Missouri sold a part of what was called the old Alexander tavern lot to John Rickerson. The lot fronted on Second Street. When Rickerson sold it to his son he mentioned that the adjoining alley was Doctor's Alley which places the lot as number 42 (new plan). White sold the rest of this lot to Lorenzo Hogland as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 9th day of May 1857 by and between Jenus White and Mary White his wife of the state of Missouri of the first part and Lorenzo Hogland of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the 2nd part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $100 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Jenus White and Mary White his wife, parties of the first part, have this day bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed, and by these presents doth bargain, sell, alien and convey to the said Lorenzo Hogland, party of the second part, all that part of a lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky known as the "Old Alexander Tavern Lot" not this day conveyed to John Rickerson.

To have and to hold to the said Lorenzo Hogland, his heirs and assigns forever by deed of general warranty. Witness our hands and seals this 9th day of May 18857. (signed) Jenus White, Mary White
