James White to John Rickerson - Shepherdsville Lot

In 1858, James White of Missour sold what was called the old Alexander tavern lot to John Rickerson. The lot fronted on Second Street. When Rickerson sold it to his son he mentioned that the adjoining alley was Doctor's Alley which places the lot as number 42 (new plan).

This indenture made and entered into by and between James White and Mary White his wife of the State of Missouri of the first part and John Rickerson of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $225.00 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said James White and Mary White his wife, parties of the first part, have this day bargained, sold and aliened and by these presents doth bargain, sell, alien and convey to the said John Rickerson a part of a lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky known as the old Alexander tavern lot commencing on Second Street at the northwest corner of said lot and running fifty and a half feet south, thence east with a straight line to the alley, thence north with said alley to the northeast corner of said lot on Second Street, thence west with said street to the beginning including the old tavern house upon said lot. To have and to hold unto the said John Rickerson, his heirs and assigns forever by deed of general warranty. Witness our hands and seals this 9th day of May 1858. (signed) James White, Mary White
