In 1826, via a Circuit Court decree, John W. Beckwith, Weir Tilford and William Jones as commissioners deeded to George W. Jenkins parts of two Shepherdsville lots (#39 & #40) from the estate of James Brown deceased. This was following a court suit brought by Elizabeth Griffin against the Brown estate.
Jenkins sold the lot to Henry I. Craycraft on 5 Sep 1844, and Craycraft sold it to Samuel N. Smith on 23 Apr 1849. Then Smith sold it to Andrew Shader on 1 Jan 1853, as shown below.

This indenture made this first day of January 1853 between Samuel N. Smith and Eliza Ann Smith of the one part, and Andrew Shader of the other part, all of the county of Bullitt and State of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the said Samuel N. Smith for and in consideration of the sum of $550, (paid by sale of a negro woman Henney at the price of $600) they the said Samuel N. Smith and wife hath sold and conveyed and doth by these presents sell and convey unto the said Andrew Shader, his heirs and assigns, the following lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Ky., on Main Street, the same whereon said Smith now lives, and the same lot and appurtenances conveyed to said Smith by H. I. Craycraft and wife by deed recorded in Deed Book L, page 400, and being parts of lots No. 39 and 40 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville, fronting Main Street 39 feet, 8 3/4 inches and extending back 198 feet, 11 inches to School Alley, together with all and singular the appurtenances.
To have and to hold said lot and appurtenances unto the said Andrew Shader, his heirs and assigns, against the claim of the said Samuel N. Smith and wife and their heirs and assigns, and against the claim of all persons whatever. In witness whereof the said Smith and wife hath hereto set their hands and seals the day and year first written. [signed by grantors]
