In 1826, via a Circuit Court decree, John W. Beckwith, Weir Tilford and William Jones as commissioners deeded to George W. Jenkins parts of two Shepherdsville lots (#39 & #40) from the estate of James Brown deceased. This was following a court suit brought by Elizabeth Griffin against the Brown estate.
Jenkins sold the lot to Henry I. Craycraft on 5 Sep 1844, as shown below.

This indenture made this fifth day of September 1844 between G. W. Jenkins of the county of Nelson and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Henry I. Craycraft of the county of Bullitt and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said G. W. Jenkins, for and in consideration of the sum of $500 to him in hand paid by the said H. I. Craycraft before the signing sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, said Jenkins has this day granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, and convey to the said Henry I. Craycraft, his heirs and assigns one house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville on Main Street, Bullitt County, and all the appurtenances thereto belonging to said lot, said lot is number four in dividing lots in sale made by commissioners for the Bullitt Academy and part of No. 39 and 40 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, and fronts on Main Street, west side, 39 feet, 8 3/4 inches and extending back 198 feet, 11 inches to School Alley.
To have and to hold forever to his said Craycraft and his heirs, and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever from the claim of all person. And I bind myself, my heirs and assigns to warrant and defend, said premises unto said Claycraft and his heirs forever from the claim or claims of each and every person whatever. In testimony whereof the said G. W. Jenkins has hereto set his hand and seal the day and date above written. [signed by Jenkins]
This deed not having yet been recorded, M. M. Jenkins, the wife of said George W. Jenkins, unites herein and becomes a party to this deed to relinquish her dower in the lot herein conveyed, and the grantors hereby confirm said deed this 1st day of September 1847. [signed by both]
