Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Griffin for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to her in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents doth grant bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm to the said John W. Beckwith all her right, title and interest in a certain lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville known in the present plan of said town by the number 79, which lot was conveyed by deed bearing date the 4th day of June 1812 by Benjamin Summers and wife to John Griffin with all its appurtenances thereunto belonging. As clerk of Bullitt County Court, I do certify that on this day Elizabeth Griffin personally before me acknowledged and delivered the previous indenture of bargain and sale to John W. Beckwith as and for her act and deed. Wherefore I have truly recorded this said indenture together with this certificate in my office as the law requires. Given under my hand this 8th day of November 1820. (signed) James Halbert
