Shepherdsville Trustees to Hannah Robinson - Lot 32

According to this deed, Adam Shepherd had been paid for this lot by Thomas Stansbury without a deed being issued to him. Now Shepherd was acknowledging the purchase and directing the trustees to issue a deed for this lot to Hannah Allender Robinson, an heir of Stansbury. Later, in 1830, Hannah's husband James Robinson sold the lot to William Lee for five dollars.

However, in 1819 Benjamin Stansbury presented the trustees with orders from Adam Shepherdsville for six lots including lot 32.

Bullitt County Deed Book D, Pages 66-67

This indenture made this 2nd day of September 1818 between James Alexander, Charles Jones and John Grayham as trustees of the town of Shepherdsville in the county of Bullitt in the state of Kentucky of the one part and Hannah Robinson, consort of James Robinson, of the other part.

Whereas the said Hannah Robinson hath produced to us the said trustees an order from Adam Shepherd, the proprietor of the land on which the said town has been established in the following words and figures, to-wit: "The trustees of Shepherdsville will please made a deed to Hannah Robinson who was Hannah Allender for lot No. 32 in the new plan of Shepherdsville, she being one of the heirs of Thomas Stansbury from whom I received satisfaction in full for said lot. Witness my hand this 1st June 1818. (signed) Adam Shepherd"

Now this indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises and the power vested in us by law we have bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Hannah Robinson and her heirs forever the said lott number 32 in the new plan of Shepherdsville together with all the advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining.

To have and to hold the said lot of land and appurtenances to her the said Hannah Robinson and her heirs to and for her and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever; and the said trustees for themselves and on behalf of their successors do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Hannah Robinson that the said lot of land and appurtenances they will forever warrant and defend against the claim of the trustees of said town and the claim of the said Adam Shepherd. In witness whereof the said trustees have set their hands and seals the day and year aforesaid.
