On 9 Jun 1819, William Pope Jr. sold 23.5 acres of land to Francis Maraman that lay on the south side of Salt River just upstream from Maraman's 10 acre tract. This tract from Pope to Maraman lay on the northwestern corner of the land originally patented to James Honey, and then later came into the hands of Pope.

This indenture made this eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and nineteen between William Pope Jr. of Jefferson County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Francis Maraman of Bullitt County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Pope Jr. for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred & thirty-five dollars current money of Kentucky to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and set over to the said Maraman and to his heirs and assigns forever the following lot of parcel of land situate in said County of Bullitt on Salt River, to wit, twenty-three and one half acres more or less and bounded as follows. Beginning at the mouth of the first gut above Maraman's house on the bank of Salt River, thence South fourteen degrees East twenty poles, thence South thirty-seven degrees West thirty-four poles, thence South forty-two degrees West eighteen poless to three beeches near the head of the gut, thence West ninety poles to the corner of said Maraman's lot of ten acres at two beeches, thence with a line thereof North thirty-four degrees East sixty-seven & two-thirds poles to the river bank, thence up the river S 54° E 24 poles, S 80° E 26 poles, North 85° E 34 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said land as before described together with all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Francis Maraman and his heirs to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said William Pope Jr. for himself and his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said Francis Maraman and his heirs and assigns that the before described land and appurtenances now is and hereafter shall be full and clear of and from all manner of incumbrance either claims or otherwise and that he the said Pope and his heirs will forever warrant and defend the titel to said land and appurtenances to the said Maraman against the claim of all and every other person or persons claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said William Pope Jr. hath set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. (signed) William Pope Jr.
I James Halbert, clerk of the County Court of Bullitt County, do certify that on the 8th day of June 1819 William Pope Jr. came personally before me in my office & acknowledged and delivered the within foregoing indenture of bargain and sale to be his voluntary act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned, and that I have recorded the same with this certificate in my office as required by law.
