On 15 Oct 1852, Thomas and Matilda Mitchell sold their part of Shepherdsville lots 23-24 to Joseph P. Simmons, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 15th day of October 1852 between Thomas A. Mitchell and Matilda Ann Mitchell, his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Joseph P. Simmons of the same county and state of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Thomas A. Mitchell for and in consideration of the sum of $850 cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Thomas A. Mitchell and Matilda Ann his wife hath bargained and sold and doth by these presents bargain, and sell unto the said Joseph P. Simmons, his heirs and assigns the houses and lots conveyed to him said Mitchell by William T. Samuels and wife and Robert F. Samuels and wife by deeds dated the 15th day of January 1851 and recorded in Bullitt County Court clerk's office in deed book M, pages 117 and 122 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville being parts of lots numbers 23 and 24.
To have, and to hold the said lots and appurtenances unto the said Joseph P. Simmons, his heirs and assigns, against the claim of the said Thomas A. Mitchell and Matilda Ann his wife and their heirs and assigns forever. In witness, whereof the said Thomas A. Mitchell and wife have hereto set their hands and seals the day and date first written.
